Privacy Policy

How TapWorks collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

1. Introduction

TapWorks provides digital business profiles accessible through technologies such as NFC (Near Field Communication) and QR codes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

TapWorks is operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS/OWNER NAME]. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, you can contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL].

Note: The placeholders above will be replaced with the actual legal business name and contact email once provided by the TapWorks owner.

  • •Payment date

  • •Transaction information

Important: TapWorks currently does not process card information through its active subscription flow.

TapWorks does not currently use a GCash or Maya API integration. Payments are manually verified where that workflow is used.

NFC / QR Information

TapWorks may collect and process:

  • •NFC card identifier
  • •Card assignment
  • •Card status
  • •Associated profile
  • •QR or profile URL information

TapWorks does not remotely erase the physical NFC chip when an account is deleted. The physical NFC chip itself is not modified by TapWorks.

3. How Information Is Used

TapWorks uses information for the following legitimate service purposes:

  • •Creating and operating TapWorks accounts
  • •Publishing digital profiles
  • •Providing QR and NFC profile access
  • •Processing leads and enquiries
  • •Displaying feedback and reviews
  • •Providing analytics to profile owners
  • •Managing subscriptions
  • •Verifying manual payments
  • •Providing customer support
  • •Preventing abuse and security incidents
  • •Maintaining and improving TapWorks
  • •Complying with applicable legal obligations

4. Public Information

TapWorks distinguishes between public profile information and private account information:

  • •Public profile information can be viewed without logging in by anyone with the profile URL, QR code, or NFC link.
  • •Leads are private to the appropriate profile owner and authorized TapWorks staff.
  • •Payment verification information is private and only accessible to the account owner and authorized TapWorks administrators.
  • •Internal admin information (admin notes, activity logs) is not public and is only accessible to authorized TapWorks staff.

5. Information Sharing and Service Providers

TapWorks uses third-party services to operate the platform. These providers may process information on behalf of TapWorks:

  • •Base44 — application infrastructure and platform services, including hosting, authentication, and data storage.
  • •Google — authentication (Google Sign-In) where users choose this option, and Google Play services where the Android app is distributed.

TapWorks does not currently use Google Play Billing for subscription processing.

TapWorks does not currently use Stripe to process active subscriptions. While legacy Stripe code may exist in the application, no active Stripe subscription processing occurs.

TapWorks does not use a GCash or Maya API integration for automated payment processing.

TapWorks does not sell your personal information.

6. Data Security

TapWorks uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • •Authentication for account access
  • •Backend authorization controls
  • •Row-level access controls to isolate user data
  • •Restricted admin access to sensitive information
  • •Private storage for payment verification records

However, no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. TapWorks does not warrant that your data is 100% secure. You use the service with that understanding.

7. Data Retention

TapWorks retains information only as long as needed for:

  • •Providing the service
  • •Security
  • •Accounting and business records
  • •Dispute resolution
  • •Legal obligations

When an account is deleted:

  • •Personal public profile information is deleted
  • •Leads and profile content are deleted
  • •Account-specific analytics are deleted
  • •Reviews about the deleted profile are deleted
  • •Reviews written by the deleted user about another profile may be anonymized
  • •Subscription access is cancelled
  • •Payment verification requests are deleted
  • •Financial and accounting records may be retained in anonymized form
  • •Internal audit records may be anonymized

TapWorks has not established a fixed retention period for anonymized financial records. Such records may be retained until no longer needed for the purposes described above.

8. Important: Account Deletion Limitation

Base44, the platform infrastructure that TapWorks is built on, currently does not expose an application-level API that TapWorks can use to permanently remove the underlying authentication account.

Therefore, when you complete TapWorks account deletion:

  • •TapWorks deletes or anonymizes applicable application data as described above
  • •TapWorks suspends the application account
  • •Access to TapWorks is blocked

However, the underlying authentication record may retain built-in fields such as your email address and name within the platform infrastructure. These fields are not visible through the TapWorks application after deletion.

9. Payment Proof File Limitation

During account deletion, PaymentRequest database records are deleted, which removes all references to proof-of-payment files.

However, because the current platform does not expose an application-level storage deletion API, an uploaded proof-of-payment file may remain in private platform storage after the account is deleted.

Such files are no longer referenced or accessible through the normal TapWorks application. They cannot be viewed by other users or through the app interface.

10. Account Deletion

You can delete your TapWorks account at any time:

  • •Inside the app: Settings → Delete Account
  • •Through the public deletion page: /delete-account

Main consequences of deletion:

  • •Your public profile is removed and NFC/QR links stop working
  • •Leads, appointments, and profile content are deleted
  • •Subscription access ends immediately
  • •Some financial and audit records may be retained in anonymized form
  • •Your ability to log in to TapWorks is blocked

Go to Account Deletion →

11. User Choices

You have the following controls over your information:

  • •Profile information: You can edit your account details in Settings.
  • •Public profile content: You control what information you publish on your public profile. You can edit or remove content at any time.
  • •Notification preferences: You can enable or disable notification types in Settings.
  • •Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time.
  • •Marketing notifications: Optional and can be turned off in Settings. This is separate from service notifications.

12. Children

TapWorks is a business and digital-profile service intended for business users and professionals.

TapWorks is not directed at children, and TapWorks does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to TapWorks, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

TapWorks does not currently implement age verification at registration. Accounts are intended for adults and business users, but TapWorks does not claim to enforce verified age requirements at this time.

13. International Processing

Because TapWorks relies on third-party cloud infrastructure, your information may be processed and stored outside of your country of residence. This may include countries with different data protection laws.

TapWorks does not control the specific server locations used by its infrastructure providers. By using TapWorks, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.

14. Policy Changes

TapWorks may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, TapWorks will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of TapWorks after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. TapWorks encourages you to review this page periodically.
